Life Member:

Mary Edmondson

 

Mary's playing Career Spanned 20 years, in that time she won club championships titles 5 times and only ever once finished outside the top 4 teams nationally.  Mary was a national team Member from 1972 to1986, she played in major tournaments including the Asian Championships in 1975 and 1983, World Qualifying Tournament Italy 1986 and Oceania Games 1973. Mary was also involved in national team trips to Australia, Hong Kong and New Caledonia.

Mary's playing ability is highlighted by the positions that she held during her career - setter, outside hitter and middle, she was also named the New Zealand captain.

Mary continues to be involved at the school level at Riccarton High School and at the club level, most recently with Smash Volleyball Club and Pioneer Volleyball Club.

Mary was awarded Volleyball New Zealand life membership in 2012, and awarded a Volleyball New Zealand Service Award in 1998.
